Day 1 : Arrival in Tanzania

You will be picked up at the Kilimanjaro International Airport and transferred to your hotel in Arusha town; you will meet your guide who will brief you on your upcoming safari. Safari guide will give all the basic information about your safari to you.

Tour Overview

Kilimanjaro Marangu day hike involves going up to the first camp Mandara hut (2720m) and come back via the same route on the same day. There is a drive about 45km from Moshi town which will take 1 hour and 2 hours from Arusha .

 

Marangu Gate (6000 ft) – Mandara Hut (9,000 ft),

Hiking/Ascent time: 3 – 4 hours

Habitat: Montane forest

Leave Moshi town about 08:30am and drive to about 45 minutes to Marangu Gate on the eastern side of Kilimanjaro. Do the necessary paperwork at the park gate such as registrations. Begin hiking at about 9:30 am. Hike through rainforest from the park gate (6000 ft) to Mandara Hut (9000 ft), taking about 3 – 4 hours. Stop half way for lunch. Reach Mandara Huts at about 01.30 pm. After short tour at the hut and start coming down to Marangu gate and you may reach at the gate around 04:45 pm. A side trip to Maundi Crater (about 15 minutes away) is a good way to see the surroundings as well as views of Kenya and Northern Tanzania.
Return Moshi and will arrive in the late evening around 06:45 pm and Drive to Arusha .

In the morning, we will collect you from hotel and the epic safari begins to Arusha National Park. The park has an incredible variety of fauna and flora, which cannot fail to impress. Hollywood also chose this region to film the movie “Hatari”, in which Hardy Kruger starred alongside the legendary John Wayne. Your safari will include a visit to the Ngurdoto Crater. Buffaloes, waterbucks, giraffes, warthogs, zebras and baboons can be seen all year round, as well as many different bird species. We will have hot picnic, At the Momella Gate, an armed ranger will be waiting for you to accompany you on the walking safari, which will give you a chance to experience the wildlife up close. Only a few other national parks in Tanzania give you such an opportunity, and it is something that should not be missed. after we will continue your tour in the safari vehicle through the Arusha National Park. After plenty of time allocated for you to observe the wildlife, we will take you back to the hotel at Arusha Farm House

After breakfast you will be met by our guide/driver, deliver short briefing then head into the Tarangire National Park for a game drive. The park runs along the line of the Tarangire River and is mainly made up of low-lying hills on the Great Rift Valley floor. Its natural vegetation mainly consists of Acacia woodland and giant African Baobab trees, with huge swamp areas in the south. Both the river and the swamps act like a magnet for wild animals, during Tanzania’s dry season. The Tarangire National Park is reputed to contain some of the largest elephant herds in Africa. This African national park is also home to three rare species of animals – the Greater Kudu, the Fringed-eared Oryx, as well as a few Ashy Starlings. We eat lunch at picnic after which we continue with game until late evening, then drive to the accommodation for overnight.

Overnight Kankari Lodge

After breakfast we head towards the Serengeti National Park, via the beautiful high lying farmland of Karatu and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Leaving the highlands behind, we descend into the heart of wild Africa – the Serengeti National Park – with its endless plains, rolling into the distance as far as the eye can see. We head to the central park area, known as the Seronera area, one of the richest wildlife habitats in the park, featuring the Seronera River, which provides a valuable water source to this area and therefore attracts wildlife well representative of most of the Serengeti’s species. We arrive in time for lunch and enjoy an afternoon game drive in the Serengeti national park.

If weather permits, we will do sundowner picnic.

Overnight at Embalakai Authentic Camps
Distance: 205 km

After breakfast we do game drive to northern Serengeti Kogatende this place is incredible wildlife and stunning views is famed for the annual migration of over 1.5 million wildebeest and hundred thousands of zebras, a frenzied bout of territorial conquests and mating happening from July-October. Witness an actual survival of the fittest as these animals plunge through crocodile-infested waters. The wildebeest produces more than 8,000 calves daily before the 1,000 km (600 mile) pilgrimage begins again.

Overnight at Kenzan Migration Camp

After breakfast, we will depart for a game drive viewing the great migration. River crossings at Kogatende starts in August as the mega herd settles into the area. Between August- October, game viewing is at its best with river crossings pretty much guaranteed every day. There is no distinct movement as the herds tend to cross back and forth over the river, following the rains and subsequent fresh grasses.

Overnight at Kenzan Migration Camp

After breakfast we will head to central Serengeti , Serengeti is one of the most famous parks in Africa for the spectacular annual wildebeest migration and classic African scenery. With literally close to 90 species of Mammals and many more Birds, Serengeti and the surrounding eco system is home to a rich, diverse collection of wildlife which tourists from the world come to see during an African Safari. The famous Big Five ( Lion, Elephant, Rhino, Leopard and Buffalo ) and the Big Nine to additionally include the Cheetah, Giraffe, Hippo and Zebra can easily spotted in Serengeti. 
It is estimated that there are close to 3,000 to 4,000 Lions in Serengeti National Park.

Your guide will try his outmost to find the animals and will make sure that you can see them from the best spot in the national park. Naturally, the migration also attracts predators and with luck you might see a kill in action.

Overnight at Embalakai Authentic Camps

After breakfast we will head to Ngorongoro Crater we descend 600m into this magnificent crater for a full-day game drive. The Ngorongoro Crater is one of the most densely crowded African wildlife areas in the world and is home to an estimated 30,000 animals including some of Tanzania’s last remaining black rhino. Supported by a year round water supply and fodder, the Ngorongoro National Park supports a vast variety of animals, which include herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo, and giant African elephants. Another big draw card to this picturesque national park is its huge population of predators, which include lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs and the ever-elusive leopard. We will enjoy a picnic lunch on the crater floor. After Picnic we will continue with the game drive and after we will head to karatu Town for an Overnight at Kankari Lodge
